About Me

I grew up in Alamo, California and have an absolutely wonderful family. My parents, Eileen and Billy, have always been extremely supportive of me in all of my endeavors, and I could not possibly have better parents. My three brothers, Billy, Brian, and Brendan are all very special to me in different ways, and I am so lucky to have such a fun, colorful, and supportive family.

I began dancing when I was three years old and really have never stopped. I began training very seriously in classical ballet at the age of eleven, and went on to attend the prestigious Kirov Academy of Ballet (a ballet boarding school in Washington DC) at thirteen. I studied in many different programs between the ages of eleven and eighteen, including: The Royal Ballet Academy, (U.K.) the Juilliard School, the Boston Ballet, and the Jillana School. I later went on to dance professionally for Peninsula Ballet Theater in Belmont, California.

I was thrilled to receive my admissions letter from UCLA in the spring of 2006! Since my parents both went there, it held a special place in my heart and I was ecstatic to begin my studies. My excitement and passion for UCLA never really died down, and I spent four amazing years there. At UCLA I studied Sociology and was incredibly interested in the ways that societies are formed and lives within them are shaped. I realized that there are many things in society that individuals simply accept without questioning, and that it is crucial to the betterment of our society that we think objectively and analytically about the society we live in and the lives we wish to lead. My education at UCLA inspired me to be a more thoughtful, compassionate, and analytical person, and empowered me to feel strong enough to work towards making a change.

Having modeled throughout college with considerable success, I decided to pursue acting and modeling after graduation. I truly love what I am doing, and while I know it is not something I can do forever, I am absolutely enjoying it while I can. Through my modeling, a recruiter for the Miss California USA Pageant reached out to me and got me in for an audition for the pageant. Having never done pageants before, I was at first hesitant to accept the opportunity presented to me to compete. However, after thinking it over, I realized that this was a phenomenal way for me to combine my passion for making a difference in society with my love for performing. I have since reached out to many different community service organizations and have been working hard to get involved at every level with organizations that are working towards promoting the cause I believe in.

I am very excited about competing, but I also need your support. Competing in the pageant is expensive, and any financial support you might be able to offer would be greatly appreciated. On this website there are multiple places to donate, and donations of any size are extremely helpful, no matter how small or large. Thank you very much for your generosity and support, I am very grateful.

Thank you for visiting my site, and have a wonderful day.

Love,

Katie
